AFRICAN ARTS

…Long before the advent of CLASSICAL GREECE and RENAISSANCE EUROPE , Africa had master its arts. Starting from the BLACK NUBIANS, THE MIGHTY EGYPTIANS AND THE CREATIVE NOKS, it spreads to other parts of the continent. Unfortunately, lack of proper documentation and manipulation of facts by our so called imperial masters almost led to the demise of our history and artistic heritage. This blatant act by our Caucasian brothers has (over the years) generated unnecessary prejudice towards contemporary African artist and his repertoire within and outside the continent. Ancient African Arts are plastic art (sculptures), which are mostly masks. These priceless and magnificent pieces can be seen today in most western museum and galleries. We discovered after an extensive research that Africans have little or non-awareness about the meaning and importance of our arts.
