THE BLAME GAME (giving back a token out of the little available)

Remember the woman with the jar of oil? The “blame game” is a virus-like anecdote that has evaded our thought pattern in an unimaginable way in this part of the world; everyone wants to blame someone for their misfortune, unfortunately only a handful prefers to take responsibility for his or her actions. This is quite prevalent among our leaders and is quietly creeping towards the general populace; we all blame the government for our woes.   It is not new that Nigeria is a place where nothing works and corruption thrives like pure water among our not so honorable leaders. Since the government and its cohorts have decided not to give a damn about its citizen why can’t we give a damn about ourselves; why can’t we support and learn to trust each other instead hostility prevails among us. We drape on the toga of selfishness hence we forget our neighbours and the less privileged among us. We craved for utopia while isolating ourselves but unfortunately no man thrives in isolation and ...

What is IMAX 3D

Finally the future is here… It is a landmark achievement in the motion picture industry and it’s a step further in the fight against piracy… It is the advent of IMAX 3D. It is a mind blowing experience in virtual reality and for cinema addicts; it is a world within a world. With IMAX 3D you can be part of the movie, with the aid of a special goggle you can find yourself within the magical walls of movie, It’s worth exploring… an experience to live for. Unfortunately, only few cinemas are equipped with the technology to screen an IMAX film. In 2008 when batman (Dark Night) was released, UK has only one IMAX screen. Another challenge with the IMAX technology is that it will take some time for people to get used to wearing goggle in a cinema and it might take a while to be able to produce the goggle on a large scale. On the other hand its advantages are worth exploring especially in the area of piracy. This innovation will step down piracy to a minimal since 90% of pirated films o...

RENEWING YOUR MIND.

Saturday was an inspiring moment in my life, it was the day I realized and was truly convinced that after all the challenges that seem insurmountable, there’s definitely a well lit light after our dark tunnel in Nigeria. It was d day I met the American born-Nigerian radio presenter, Dan Foster at the launching of his website/social network site somewhere in ikoyi. He confirmed my faith and the faith of few others that Nigeria can work so if we are ready to make the necessary sacrifice… Renewal of our minds. It is a long walk, no doubt; it reminds me of Dr Nelson Mandela, in his acclaimed autobiography, “Long Walk To Freedom”. Mandela was able to tune his mind into a state of alertness throughout his 27 years of incarceration. He was a able to achieve this monumental feat by studying and exercising while in prison and this helped shape his mental stability during his presidential days. The mind is the single most powerful part of human existence; it is the only imperishable element in o...

INVITATION TO PARTNER IN THE PROVISION OF FREE MULTIMEDIA TRAINING FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN LAGOS STATE

We heartily acknowledge your immense contributions to the development of education in your unique ways. With your continued effort and innovations, the future of Nigerian student is brighter. We have the pleasure of introducing to you a project; “MULTIMEDIA XPLOIT” which Toonwalk Enterprises, a dynamic and vibrant Multimedia Development and Production outfit is putting together. The project is to address a major problem in the Nigerian society, that of social menace amongst secondary school students and school leavers. Statistics has shown that most school leavers end up not being admitted into tertiary institutions; while those who could not get to SSS 3 eventually drop out to do anything ranging from bus conducting, bike riding, hawking, Internet fraud, stealing, etc. We have seen the need to help Government reduce this menace by providing alternative solutions to formal learning through vocational training in Multimedia and Audiovisual solutions. It is instructive to inform you that...

AFRICAN ARTS

…Long before the advent of CLASSICAL GREECE and RENAISSANCE EUROPE , Africa had master its arts. Starting from the BLACK NUBIANS, THE MIGHTY EGYPTIANS AND THE CREATIVE NOKS, it spreads to other parts of the continent. Unfortunately, lack of proper documentation and manipulation of facts by our so called imperial masters almost led to the demise of our history and artistic heritage. This blatant act by our Caucasian brothers has (over the years) generated unnecessary prejudice towards contemporary African artist and his repertoire within and outside the continent. Ancient African Arts are plastic art (sculptures), which are mostly masks. These priceless and magnificent pieces can be seen today in most western museum and galleries. We discovered after an extensive research that Africans have little or non-awareness about the meaning and importance of our arts. PRIMITIVE ARTS , formerly referred to by the westerners came to prominence during Picasso’s BLACK PERIOD . He saw its aesthetic a...
